Elaine Benes

Elaine was once Jerry's girlfriend. Although they broke up and they have remained good friends. Elaine has a few female friends but doesn't really like any of them. So she has become close with George and Kramer too.

She has gone out with a lot of losers and weirdos. Her longest boyfrined was Puddy. They went on a trip to Europe together but did not enjoy it. They like making each other miserable. Although they broke up a lot they were always getting back together. Elaine was very concerned that Puddy thought she was going to Hell because she didn't share his faith.

Elaine has problems with animals. She is allergic to cats. She hates dogs and they hate her back. A barking dog was a major problem to her sleep so she hired Newman to abduct it. She was also chased by dogs when she wore Jerry's jacket unknowing that he had stuffed meat in it's pockets.

Elaine claims to have a high IQ but this wasn't proven on a test. She has shiksappeal which makes her very attractive to Jewish men. She worked for Pendant Publishing as a manuscript reader. After the company went bankrupt, she got a job as personal assistant to Mr Pitt, an eccentric and fussy man. She was fired when it looked like she was trying kill him because she was in his will. She then got a job working for J Peterman on his clothing catalogue. When Peterman took off on a sabatical Elaine took charge.

and took revenge on a woman who wouldn't share toilet paper with her (The Stall)
