In Space, Xavier meets with Lilandra and the Starjammers to discuss the use of the Earth as a prision for galatic criminals, and decides to return to Earth. In New Orleans Storm recieves a summons from the Black Panther and leaves. Phoenix continues to worry why she cannot sense Cyclops after both Cable and Rogue have. The hospital they are at is attacked by a group wearing outdated Mandroid suits, but they are a diversion. The real attack comes from a group of disgraced Shi'ar Imperial Guardsmen and their ally War Hammer, a member of the D'Bari whose race was destroyed by Dark Phoenix and who wants vengence. While the X-Men battle the Guardsmen, Phoenix allows War Hammer to believe he has killed her so he can be at peace with his survivors quilt.
