Flashback: Gambit consoles Rogue in New Orleans over her killing the Goth

While training in the Danger Room, Nightcrawler is suprised by the appearance of Cerise his ex-love. Depressed over her recent murder of The Goth, Rogue drowns her sorrows with ice cream. A young skrull Z'Cann accidently reverts to her true form when she wakes on a train in Salem Centre and flees, only to be pursued by the Blood Brothers. Rogue comes to her rescue, but the badly injured Z'Cann attempts to transfer her memories to Rogue to complete her mission, but the young Skrull's telepathic powers amplify Rogue's absorbtion powers. Rogue takes on the Skrull's form and when she returns to the Mansion the X-Men are unsure wether Rogue is an imposter or not, until Colossus allows her to touch him and she absorbs his powers. Rogue explains that she thinks Z'Cann wanted the X-Men to attack the Transmat terminus at Ellis Island by which the alien criminals are being transported to Earth. The X-Men and Cerise fight their way through guards. To her surprise, during the battle Rogue takes on Wolverine's mutant abilities and his form. With his healing factor the memories Rogue absorbed become clearer and she remembers that they are there to meet someone, not destroy the portal. Rogue and Colossus block Thunderbird's solar blast from destroying the portal just in time to ensure Bishop's safe arrival back to Earth.
