Beverly Hills Family RobinsonSarah Michelle Gellar starred in this telemovie with Dyan Cannon (Whipper in Ally McBeal) and Martin Mull (Leon in Roseanne or Mr Kraft in Sabrina the Teenage Witch). Based on the traditional story of the family marooned on a desert island, this version had Television chef (Cannon) take her family on a yacht out to sea. When they're hijacked by pirates the pampered Robinsons from Beverly Hills have to get used to living on a desert island. Despite the silliness of it all, they set up a desert island mansion complete with electricity and a fridge, and Sarah playing the teenage daughter falls for an Aussie surfer who's also washed ashore. The hijackers also end up on the island and a slapstick show down takes place. Although silly the film is entertaining. |
