Paul's Web Space: Fan Stuff: Quotes of Note
This is a collection of quoteworthy things from books, tv, or where ever. It's very a small collection at the moment of some stuff I've written down in order to remember and kind of here just to amuse myself!
"You know that stuff they're selling now at the local shop, 'I Can't Believe it's Not Butter'. Well, you know, I can't believe it's not butter. Then yesterday ... I bought this other stuff, like a sort of home-brand you know... Well I can't believe the stuff that is not 'I Can't Believe it's Not Butter' is not 'I Can't Believe it's Not Butter', and I can't believe that both 'I Can't Believe it's Not Butter' and the stuff I can't believe is not 'I Can't Believe it's Not Butter' are both, in fact, not butter. And I believe they both might be butter, in a cunning disguise. And if fact there's a lot more butter around than we all thought there was."
Alice Tinker, "Animals", Vicar Of Dibley
Buffy: "Okay so I battle evil, but I don't really win. The bad keeps coming back and getting stronger. I'm like the kid in that story, the boy who stuck his finger in the duck."
Angel: "Dike. [Buffy gives him a look] It's another word for dam."
Buffy: "Oh, okay, that story makes a lot more sense now."
Buffy and Angel, "Gingerbread", Buffy the Vampire Slayer
[Data explains:] "In the last half of the
twentieth century on Earth, there was a subculture of belief
which held that the planet was being visited by
extraterrestrials."
Kirk didn't
see the point. "But we were, weren't we?"
"Well, yes, sir. But at the time, there was no official
recognition of that fact. Earth was subject to regular
observation by Vulcan probe shops, and sporadic visits by other
space farers, all adhering to a version of the doctrine of
noninterference. Except for the Reticulans, of course."
"Of
course," Kirk and Picard said in unison.

"Don't worry, I'll delete myself at the first sign of trouble. Well, maybe not the first sign."
